Over two days, offered two plenary sessions and seven practical tutorials. Conference participants discussed the most current trends and issues of the MRO market in Russia and the CIS.
A particularly active discussion took place in the session that covered the transfer of aircraft on to the Russian register. Representatives of the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency and the Ministry of Transport of Russia shared their initiatives on the subject and revealed what operators can expect with the transfer of their aircraft to the Russian registry.

Key topics of the parallel practical sessions included aircraft engine MRO requirements, work with aircraft components, the implementation of digital technologies in aircraft maintenance and the organisation of after-sales service connected with the new Russian-built aircraft.
Gerrit Rexhausen, the Program Manager for Corporate Innovation at Lufthansa Technik, shared the company’s experiences in the implementation of industry 4.0 technologies, including the Internet of things (IoT), the use of robotics systems and virtual reality. He pointed out that such innovations are primarily aimed at improving the efficiency standards of aircraft maintenance and are designed to facilitate the work of people, not replace it.

During the session on staff training, participants discovered the professional progression, development and adaptation of staff performance levels and current requirements in real business environments.
Several especially significant news developments were announced at the convention. For example, Honeywell, a multi-sector global corporation, and S7 Technics, a leading Russian MRO provider, revealed their creation of a repair facility – the first of its kind in Russia and the CIS – to handle Honeywell APUs installed in the most popular aircraft. Another breaking news item was that three major Russian airlines – Aeroflot, Ural Airlines and AirBridgeCargo – have contracted Lufthansa Technik for comprehensive and long-term parts and components support.
The best companies and young talents were awarded at the 11th MRO Russia & CIS Industry Award ceremony.
