Masterclass: "How to leverage the SGHA to save cost & make money?"

Maurizio Anichini, Co-founder and Chairman of Twiga Aero Aviation Training and Consulting & IATA Strategic Partner, he held a preconference Masterclass: "How to leverage the SGHA to save cost & make money?" on the eve of the 9th international conference and exhibition Ground Handling Russia & CIS – September 25, 2018 at Renaissance Monarch Center in Moscow, Russia.
Mr. Anichini’s experience includes engaging with industry stakeholders from ICAO to CAAs, IATA member airlines, Ground Service Providers and Airport Authorities, to develop new aviation training solutions, and maintain quality of existing training programs. By providing consulting services to drive and improve safety & quality in the aviation industry, Mr. Anichini developed and drove several industry solutions, while at IATA. These include:
• Implementation of Safety & Quality Management Systems methodology
• The IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO)
• IATA Ground Operations Manual (IGOM) project,
• Author of the IATA Airport Handling Manual (AHM)
Overview: Airlines outsource more than 90% of their ground handling operations across their networks. IATA Standard Ground Handling Agreement (SGHA) & Service Level Agreements (SLA) are ‘must have’ standards. In this course, participants will understand the essential elements of these agreements to tailor- make agreements that reflect clear customer requirements, service obligations & limits of liability, creating a win – win situation.
Objectives: Using the latest IATA Standard Ground Handling Agreement (SGHA) & SLA, AHM811 Yellow Pages as the base, participants will:
• Understand the framework for & benefits for establishing an IATA SGHA
• Identify the key elements of the SGHA & SLA
• Learn how to interpret the requirements of the contract and translate them into operational requirements
• Learn how to establish SLAs that are not only SMART but also safe
• Learn how to interpret the liability clause through practical examples of how things go wrong
• Understand the implications of consequential loss & avoid costly contractual issues
• Understand the use of AHM660 in respect of calculating consequential loss in the event of aircraft ground damage
