European and Russian air transport regulators and industry leaders discussed market developments and bilateral partnerships at EU-Russia Air Transport: Today and Tomorrow, the 3rd international conference in Brussels. Delegates from airlines, airports, regulatory bodies and trade associations, industry suppliers and financiers gathered to share views of further prospects of air transport cooperation that is based largely on close interaction between carriers and regulators.

European Parliament’s Holger Krahmer, Member of the Environmental Committee delivered an impressive presentation on introduction of Europe’s Emission Trading Scheme and its implications.

Yulia Zvorykina, Counsellor, Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the European Union put wise to the new phase of EU–Russia transport dialogue on aviation track.

Russia's WTO accession and consequent effects for Russian airlines were analyzed by Boris Rybak, General Director of Infomost.com. This speech was highly appreciated by most of the participants and was further extended at the panel discussion “Airlines Commercial Cooperation: New Development Trends”.

Russian delegates for the first time ever learned about EU Safety Authorisations of foreign air operators from Sascha Oliver Schott, Third Country Operators Section Manager from European Aviation Safety Agency.

The establishment of Network Manager within the framework of the Single European Sky was highlighted by Žarko Sivčev, Advisor COO at Eurocontrol.

Gerard Borel, General Counsel at ACI EUROPE gave an outlook at airport industry’s latest trends and development.

The conference contributed significantly to the dialogue between EU and Russian authorities and gave an opportunity to all market players to deliver their vision of the future of air transport in Russia and Europe.
